About Us

The Mirabella neighborhood association covers the Mirabella and Miravista subdivisions in the southeast section of Albuquerque. Our goal is to bring the community together to create a better, safer neighborhood for all of us. To that end we would like to focus on the several things:

Community

We would like to create value in our community, not just in our homes.  Our association therefore is inclusive of those living in our neighborhoods, regardless of whether they own or rent.

Security

There has been an increase in crime lately. Several of you may have noticed new bars being put up on homes. In the month of November, two men were pretending to work for a security company in order to gain access to homes and scout out their security. Multiple vehicles have been vandalized in driveways this year.

In order to help improve the situation we'd like to encourage people to form Neighborhood Watch organizations. We'd also like to create a network for communicating risks and concerns quickly with each other, so that we can all be alert and aware.

Home Owners' Association Involvement

Our Homeowners Associations is in many ways a small government - they collect "taxes", maintain public areas, enforce restrictions and even provide some limited security. We'd like to promote community involvement in the homeowners association to ensure that everyone has their say about the area they live in.

Home Improvement

Not everyone is an expert at landscaping, gardening and home maintenance - but there are clearly people in our area with a lot of knowledge and experience - we'd like to tap into their experience and provide access to advice and tips from people who've already done the same.

City Planning

Our neighborhood is located in the center of the East Gate Sector Redevelopment project.  We hope to provide feedback to the city and other governmental organizations as they make decisions that will affect our neighborhood.

HOA President Report Clarification PDF Print E-mail

In response to the HOA President's report published in June, the Neighborhood Association would like to clarify our mission.  Our mission is to work with all of the residents and homeowners of Mirabella and Miravista to strengthen community, improve security, and work with the city of Albuquerque in regards to developmental issues in our area, including the development of Southern.  The neighborhood association does not collect fees or dues and operates solely on donations.

We wish to work with the HOA to achieve these goals whenever possible.  However, we do not want to work for the board or HOAMCO because a Neighborhood Association is a separate entity.  At the HOA Town Hall, the HOA board proposed that the Neighborhood Association become the social committee of the HOA.  We respectfully declined.

If additional clarification is requested, please e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
